May I say I think this was an excellent article and the dissemination of my own data including even between charities has been the bane of my life for some time.
Whenever I’ve tried to contact government agencies there seems to be very little we can do to protect our information. It seems to me that everyone gathers enormous amounts of information often unnecessarily, especially dates of birth and private telephone numbers never to be deleted.
I don’t understand why government doesn’t adopt the European standards as a minimum and shows example by not allowing political parties to obtain data and then robo-dial us telling us how to vote! – Chris Barry
