In its third year, the ANZ Community Ball will be held on Saturday March 5, 2022 at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

Brendan Rinaldi, who is one of ANZ’s local leaders and Chair of the event organising committee, said the past two balls had attracted sell-out crowds of South Australia’s most prominent business people and raised more than $560,000 for local charities.

He said getting tickets early for the upcoming ball was important because there was a limit of 760 people in order to allow for the return of dancing at the event.

The 2022 host charity is the Operation Flinders Foundation, with five other local charities showcased and another six supported with the fundraising.

Rinaldi said the charity night was designed to bring together the community and also showcase the best produce and entertainment SA has to offer while supporting the local charities and their own contribution to society.

“As a large organisation in South Australia, ANZ has an obligation to support the local community and this fits with our core purpose,” Rinaldi said.

“We also have the ability to collaborate with our large business network to work together in not only supporting but promoting a number of great local charities who form an integral part of our community.

“The charity experience is also quite unique in that the different charities are coming together on the night and we’d hope everyone in the audience has a connection with at least one of the charities being supported.”

Guests will be entertained by James Morrison and his Motown Band and enjoy a menu by Callum Hann and ACC Head Chef Gavin Robertson featuring the best of South Australian produce and wines. This year’s event will also feature a whisky and champagne bar.

Rinaldi said the goal was to raise more than $300,000 and a number of special items had been organised for the online auction and raffle draws.

“There is a major car raffle thanks to Peter Kittle Toyota, along with a live auction which is a key feature with many money can’t buy experiences,” he said.

“There is also a silent auction with over 150 items supplied by local businesses.”

Rinaldi said they were also grateful for the continued support of founding sponsors such as Kaesler Wines and InDaily, and was pleased to welcome a number of new sponsors for next year including Network 10, Ouwens and Casserly, LMS Energy and Yalumba.

Operation Flinders Foundation CEO David Wark said being the host charity of the annual ball would help it fulfil its mission to provide young men and women from challenging backgrounds with demanding outdoor challenges and support.

“Being the host charity for the ANZ Community Ball in 2022 will help the Foundation by creating more opportunities for the young people we strive to assist across South Australia,” Wark said.

“The funds raised from the event will go directly towards transforming the lives of young people.”

The other major charities to benefit from the gala are the Jodi Lee Foundation, the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Central Operations), Zoos SA, SAHMRI and the Hutt Street Centre.

Six other charities will also benefit from the fundraising, including the Childhood Cancer Association, Foodbank, Backpacks4SAKids, LifeChanger, Generations in Jazz and Sight for All.

Tickets can be purchased via Trybooking, with individual tickets at $198 (GST incl) or $1,980 for a table of 10. Corporate VIP tables are also available for $2,950.
