Tim Crosbie from Adelaide’s Rising Sun Pictures was one of four nominees for an Academy Award this week for the visual effects in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

While not winning an Oscar, his nomination is further confirmation of the world class work being produced by Rising Sun Pictures – a Business SA member.

With a highly mobile and international talent pool in the visual effects industry, Business SA assisted Rising Sun Pictures on a number of occasions with its migration and visa services to secure the visas required to bring this talent to Adelaide.

Crosbie said X-Men: Days of Future Past was “not the biggest job I’ve ever worked on, but it was the most technically difficult”. It took Crosbie and a large team seven months to produce the effects that occur in the Quicksilver Pentagon’s kitchen scene.
