Tracee Micallef has more than 20 years of experience in the legal profession and is currently a member of the South Australian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, working principally in guardianship and administration.
Prior to joining SACAT, Micallef spent nearly 20 years working in private practices as a barrister and solicitor where she specialised in criminal law, family law, environment, guardianship and care and protection matters.
Micallef will work as a Magistrate primarily in the Youth Court.
“Micallef has extensive experience in the criminal law and the care and protection jurisdiction of the Youth Court, being awarded the Hon Dr Robyn Layton AO KC Award for her extensive efforts in this complex and challenging area,” Attorney-General Kyam Maher said.
“In private practice, she has been a sole practitioner and Managing Partner of Micallef Lipson Chambers, and her work as a member of SACAT has involved complex matters in the guardianship and administration area.
“She is exceptionally well-qualified and I look forward to her contribution to the Magistrate’s Court.”
