Woman killed by tree branch in Adelaide park

A 22-year-old woman has died has after being hit by a large branch which fell from a gum tree at North Adelaide.

Police and emergency services were called to the University of Adelaide soccer ground on War Memorial Drive at about 2.30pm on Wednesday after the woman was struck.

Attempts were made to revive her but she died at the scene.

War Memorial Drive was closed yesterday between Frome Road and Bundeys Road, but is now reopened.

Police will prepare a report for the Coroner.
