Second passenger dies, driver charged after car-bus collision

A second woman has died and a motorist has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a car collided with a bus near Two Wells north of Adelaide last week.

The car and bus collided at the junction of Mallala and Navvy Hill roads at Korunye, eight kilometres north of Two Wells at 7.15 on Friday, January 2.

The bus was empty and the driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries, but a 23-year-old Elizabeth North woman who was a passenger in the car died at the scene.

Another passenger, a 19-year-old woman from Davoren Park, was seriously injured and flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, while the 23-year-old male driver from Freeling was also taken to hospital for treatment.

Police said the injured woman died in hospital on Tuesday.

The sedan driver was arrested on Monday and charged with two counts of cause death by dangerous driving, and one count of cause harm by dangerous driving.

He was bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on March 19.
