Police were called to James Place at about 5pm Tuesday after reports a woman had entered the store and asked to see a jewellery display tray.

It’s alleged the woman then sprayed a staff member in the face with an unknown liquid before taking the tray and running from the store.

Police say the staff member chased the woman and recovered the items before the alleged offender ran off, dropping the bottle of liquid and a Taser.

The woman was later taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

A 42-year-old Unley woman was later arrested and charged with aggravated robbery, possessing a prohibited weapon and breach of bail.

She was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
