Police say emergency crews called to a truck fire at 11:15pm Sunday found a B-double parked on the side of the highway, fully engulfed in flames, with the fire spreading to nearby scrub.

The 61-year-old truck driver from Victoria was not injured.

CFS crews battled the fire overnight but it kept reigniting.

Dukes Highway is currently closed in both directions to all traffic while the truck is taken apart to fully extinguish the fire.

Diversions are in place between Tailem Bend and Coonalpyn with motorists to detour towards Meningie via the Princes Highway and McIntosh Way.
