Plaza Premium Group founder and chief executive officer Song Hoi See said Australia is a key strategic market for the Hong Kong-headquartered business which owns hospitality facilities at more than 70 international airports.

The new independent lounge, featuring a South Australian-influenced wine corridor created with Accolade Wines, nature-inspired art, booths, dining room, bar and showers, is one of the final projects in the $200 million Adelaide Airport expansion.

Song Hoi See said the new space gives all international passengers an airport lounge option, with bespoke design incorporating natural stone, marble, granite and timber available to walk-in users rather than those who pay a year-round membership with an airline.

The Adelaide lounge, based near the international gates, is the group’s fourth location in Australia, as well as Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. It is Adelaide Airport’s first “common-user lounge”.

“Australia is a key strategic market and we continue to expand our footprint,” Song Hoi See said at the official opening at Adelaide Airport today.

Adelaide Airport managing director Brenton Cox said the new space meant all international departing and transit passengers would have the option to use a premium lounge before flights.

The new VIP travellers lounge is part of an airport expansion that is catering for growing numbers of post-COVID travellers.

“This is one of the final pieces of our $200 million terminal expansion project that has also seen a significant upgrade of our international arrivals and departures facilities including expanded duty-free, more room for immigration processing and more baggage belts for arriving passengers,” Cox said.
