Police said the woman pedestrian from the state’s Far West was hit by a road train on the Eyre Highway at Wudinna near the Rashleigh Rd junction just before 8pm on Saturday, May 27.

The truck did not stop at the scene but continued driving west on the Eyre Highway out of Wudinna. Police said a second truck also heading west drove past a short time later.

The injured woman, 42, died on Wednesday, May 31.

Police have appealed for the truck drivers to come forward or for any witnesses to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The woman’s death lifted the state’s road toll to 58 for the year, compared with 33 at the same time last year.
