Drugs, weapons discovered in home bunker at Coromandel East
Two men will appear in court today after the discovery of drugs being grown in an “elaborate underground bunker” at Coromandel East.

Detectives uncovered the cannabis grow-house after searching the semi-rural property.
They seized 18 hydroponically-grown cannabis plants, more than half a kilo of dried cannabis, two gel blaster firearms, around 35gm of a white powder suspected to be cocaine, hydroponic equipment and a large quantity of cash.
Two Coromandel East men, aged 53 and 20, were arrested at the property and charged with cultivating cannabis, theft of electricity, possess prescribed equipment, trafficking in controlled drugs, money laundering and possess firearms without a licence.

The men were refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
“This find of a concealed underground bunker illustrates the lengths that those involved in organised crime will go to in attempting to conceal their illegal activities,” said Detective Superintendent Billy Thompson, Officer in charge of Serious and Organised Crime Branch.
