Man and teen charged over alleged Hindley St car park assaults

A man and a teenager have appeared in court after being charged with the rape of two women in a car park off Hindley Street on Saturday night.

SA Police say the alleged rape occurred in an undisclosed car park between 11pm on Saturday and 12.30am on Sunday.

A 20-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested and charged with rape on Sunday and appeared before the Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday, police said.

A 17-year-old boy from Blair Athol was then arrested and charged with rape on Monday, police said. He appeared in the Adelaide Youth Court on Monday.

Police said the alleged sexual assault of two female victims is “not believed to be a random incident”.

“However, investigations are continuing and anyone with information that may assist are asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” SA Police said in a statement on Monday.
