Police responded to reports of a two car crash on Grenfell Street at about 1am.

A silver Honda initially stopped at the scene but allegedly drove off, running over the other driver’s foot.

The driver was not injured.

Patrols located and stopped the Honda on Grote Street.

The driver submitted to a roadside breath test and returned a positive result but then refused to submit to a breath analysis back at the station.

The 30-year-old from Glenelg North was reported for driving without due care, failing to stop and exchange details at the scene of a crash, refusing a breath analysis and driving under the influence.

He lost his licence on the spot for 12 months and his car was impounded for 28 days.

He will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
