Discover online storytelling

In an Australian exclusive documentary filmmaker Erin Lee Carr discusses with Sandy George the medium of online storytelling, and explains how the next generation of creators are using online distribution channels to establish a career and bring film to new audiences.

Erin’s work explores the intersection between the Internet and crime works, and has amassed over 25 million views. Her 2013 film Click. Print. Gun, about 3D printed guns, garnered 9.5 million views online and won a 2014 Webby for Best Individual short.

Recently, she was green-lit to direct and produce a documentary for HBO Documentary Films about online surveillance. The piece, currently entitled Thought Crimes, is her directorial debut and due for release later this year.

This event is co-presented by The Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre, with the Mercury Cinema and the Media Resource Centre, as part of 2015 DocWeek.
