Michael Jandy, barrister and partner at Dadds Jandy Lawyers, has been appointed to the Magistrates Court to fill the vacancy left by retiring Magistrate Stefan Metanomski.

The lawyer began his professional career working in the Police Complaints Authority in 1999, before moving to the Legal Services Commission as a duty solicitor.

Alongside Michael Dadds, Jandy entered private practice in 2001 to start Dadds Jandy Lawyers.

He will begin with the Magistrates Court next week.

Attorney-General Kyam Maher said he was pleased Jandy would be joining the magistracy.

“Michael Jandy has extensive experience working in criminal law and numerous disciplinary board matters including cases before the Medical Board, the Teachers Registration Board and the Nursing and Midwifery Board,” Maher said.

“I’m pleased to have someone with his background, experience and expertise joining the magistracy, and I look forward to his contribution to the courts in the years ahead.

“I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Stefan Metanomski for his work in the Magistrates Court over the past 34 years, and wish him well for his retirement.”
