Mighty Kingdom takes its Star Trek title to the world
Independent Adelaide game developer Mighty Kingdom has announced the worldwide launch of its new mobile title Star Trek: Lower Decks – the Badgey Directive.

After a successful soft launch in select test markets in February this year, the game is now being published by Mighty Kingdom’s co-development partner and leading free-to-play mobile idle game group East Side Games Group – in a multi-year partnership with Paramount Consumer Products.
Mighty Kingdom and ESGG will share revenue from the mobile game after costs are recouped. The game is a free-to-play idle mobile game, featuring storylines and characters for across the Star Trek franchise.
The launch follows a Mighty Kingdom announcement last month that it would undertake a “significant refocus and restructure” of its business plan and management after posting poor financial results attributed to game release delays.
In an ASX update at the time, the game developer said it would be undertaking a share placement to raise $7m in working capital and reach cash-flow breakeven by the third quarter of this financial year.
In its announcement this week, the Adelaide-based company said it signed an agreement with ESGG in February to co-develop three additional games over a two-year period following their success working together on this latest title.
“Working in the Star Trek universe with a Lower Decks-flair has been a wonderful experience, and we are so thrilled to share our work with the world,” Mighty Kingdom managing director and chief executive officer Philip Mayes said.
“It is a universe with a huge, dedicated global audience, and we expect this game to provide fans with a compelling experience that they will enjoy playing day after day.”
