It took 30 firefighters more than an hour to bring the blaze under control, with damage estimated at $250,000. A mother and daughter who were home at the time of the fire escaped unharmed. Theft spree Police are investigating a number of thefts from vehicles in Wynn Vale in a 12-hour spree on Saturday night and Sunday morning. CDs and MP3 players were among the items stolen from cars on Brunswick Terrace and Trebbiano Street, with thieves smashing through windows to gain entry. US EXPLOSION KILLS 5 South Australia's road toll is double what it was at the same time last year following a fatal accident near Murray Bridge last night. A 40-year-old Nairne woman was the only person in the station wagon when it rolled on the Princes Highway about 10pm. Her death takes the road toll to 24 compared to 12 at the same time last year. Twenty-one of the deaths have occurred on country roads. The death follows two fatal accidents over the weekend. A 90-year-old female pedestrian died in hospital after being hit on Friday while crossing Goodwood Road at Colonel Light Gardens.
